GRATEFUL JOY
Ann Voskamp, Canadian author wrote:
“No amount of regret changes the past. No amount of anxiety changes the future. Any amount of grateful joy changes the present.”
In Voskamp’s book, ‘One Thousand Gifts’ (Thanks, dear Karen) that was a #1 Best Seller on New York Times list (she has since had three others), she gives solid, down to earth, positive counsel on many subjects. As a mother of seven and wife to ‘a fine farmer,’ she has a lot of in life experiences to share. Many are sharing the fruit of her message and now with her husband they have restored an abandoned church building and turned it into a worship space, a meeting venue, a feeding space and shelter for the homeless in their hometown… called The Village Table. (They have other international works). I say all of this to quote the start:
“No amount of regret changes the past. No amount of anxiety changes the future. Any amount of grateful joy changes the present.”
It’s wonderful to see sisters and brothers live what they say. Bless them, Lord, with grateful joy.
