GRACE EXCUSES

If I want to intentionally sin I may also be intentionally depending on grace to eradicate the penalty of sin. For sins like lying or dishonesty for example, I can find scripture and historical examples that support forgiveness, loving and merciful action from the Father.

I justify wrong doing by telling myself the Lord will demonstrate grace even when I willingly and willfully enter into sinful thoughts and practices. This is how goofy sin can make us: We start using Grace Excuses. And, even goofier…we start believing what we are saying and thinking.

The apostle Paul wrote, “Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not!” (Romans 6:1-2)
