GO TO PEOPLE #2

Go to people are those special people we have in our lives that we can go to for answers, help or companionship. There are several people in my life in that category. The main thing one has to know is not subject matter but subject. For example, I don’t need to know about electrical stuff… I just need to know John (see January 18, 2018 Journal entry).

Another go to person is Jim. Regardless of the information needed, Jim will probably know. He puts his hand across his forehead with his thumb on one temple and his fingers on the other and gently squeezes for a moment, removes his hand and then tells me the answer. I have tried this squeezing deal and it does not work for me.

Jim knows about a lot of things like politics, gardening, ancient and modern history, biology, astronomy, medicine, wild animals, domestic animals, carpentry, building, electricity, Bible content, weather, business, and any number of such things… and that’s with just one little squeeze on his temples.

It really means that a person does not need to know very much at all… one just needs to know the right Go To People. Jim is surely one these people for me and a good friend as well.
