GO TO PEOPLE #1

Most of us have various people we can go to with issues we can’t solve or handle by ourselves. A lot of Go To People are specialized and we only go to them when we need their specialty… money, math, music, maps, mice, microbes, meteors, mufflers, stuff like that.

But there are Go To People in my life that know everything about everything. There are six I can mention: Roz, who knows everything about me and knows the answers before I ask the questions. That’s handy and speeds things along. Then there is John, Loren, Jim, Arlin and Clarence the Egg Man. Arlin is now dead so that makes only five.

For example: John taught me that 220 volts is twice as much 110 volts. I had to figure this out. He said, “Referring to 110 or 220 watts instead of volts represents a common misunderstanding of electricity. A watt is a unit of power, whereas a volt is a measurement of electrical pressure, as it is colloquially known. Watts are equal to volts times the amount of electrical flow (current) in amperes.” See why we need Go To People? I have no idea what any of this means. It is actually kind of a torture to my little brain… but John knows so who cares…I don’t need to know… I need to know John.

I will later get into Loren, Jim and Clarence the Egg Man. They know about watts and volts and everything else that humans know about. They know so much it is scary. I’m glad I know these Go To People.
