DEALING WITH THE ORPHAN
The Helper (Holy Spirit) breaks human rejection. He says, “I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you” (John 14:18). This is the wonderful phrase used to describe the dilemma of the human condition. The issue of sin separation has been fully satisfied by the work of the cross but there still remains a separation and orphaned condition that must be dealt with by the Helper. The gift of forgiveness of sins in a salvation only gospel does not deal with what Jesus taught as the ‘gospel of the kingdom.’ This is why so many ‘saved people’ are often disconnected, bored, and even in despair. The Helper comes to bring adoption to every orphan. We are all made orphans when we accept the kingdom way over the world’s way. We are orphans to the world system and the ‘spirit of the age’ it produces. We have the great privilege of being adopted into great things: The Great Adoption- is when the Father adopts us as His own children and calls us sons (non-gender) and gives us the distinction of sonship (Romans 8, Galatians 4).
This wonderful blessing is the Helper’s first work of dealing with our rejection of having left the world systems and values at a strictly human level and viewing our world as sons with Father’s values and purposes for our world.
Understanding this unique adoption and acceptance is what stops our rejection.
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”
