FOWLED UP
When we have
Crow’s feet around the eyes
complexion the color of robin’s eggs,
chatter like a magpie,
eat like a vulture,
are pigeon toed,
proud as a peacock,
have buzzard breath,
are vulnerable as a turkey,
are just plain chicken,
waddle like a duck,
are bird brained,
and hen pecked…
go as the crow flies
Something could be fowled up… or we might be
Happy as a lark,
Crazy a loon.
“A bird does not sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.”
Maya Angelou (1928-2014)
“God gives every bird its food, but He does not throw it into its nest.”
Josiah Gilbert Holland (1819-1881)
(One of my favorite sayings)
“It is not only fine feathers that make fine birds.” (Aesop’s Fables)
“Two sparrows cost only a penny, but not even one of them can die without your Father’s knowing it.” Jesus
