CARING FOR THE HOUSE
I recently saw this quote: “When you allow the wrong people in your house, stuff will come up missing like: Joy, Peace, Love, Hope, Faith… Yes, people steal these things.” (Author Unknown)
It is interesting that in the New Testament, Paul, an apostle, wrote, “For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven.”
(2 Corinthians 5)
Our body is referred to as a house. He also said we are waiting for “a house not made with human hands, but a house built by God as an eternal house.” Until that day (“in this house we groan”) it would be wise to take the opening quote and apply it to our physical house where we live and the house we live in called our body. Avoid allowing the wrong things to get into the house.
“When you allow the wrong people in your house, stuff will come up missing like: Joy, Peace, Love, Hope, Faith… Yes, people steal these things.” It is stolen from our house, our family, friends, politics, churches, businesses and schools… anywhere the wrong people are allowed in… stuff gets stolen.
“There are many rooms in my Father’s house. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going away to make a place for you.” Jesus
