FATHERLESS FATHERS

Not long ago I overheard a comment concerning ‘a child that was fatherless’ and I immediately thought to myself: That’s impossible. Every child has been begotten by someone and birthed by someone. The issue has nothing to do with the child and everything to do with the parents. If we have fatherless children it is because we have fatherless fathers.

The Psalmist wrote:
“Sing to God, sing praises to his name;
    lift up a song to him who rides through the deserts;
his name is the Lord;
    exult before him!
Father of the fatherless and protector of widows
    is God in his holy habitation.” (Psalm 68:4-5)

The Lord is the Father to the fatherless if no one else will be.

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” Jesus
