ETERNAL NOW
“Nan Merrill wrote, “Awakening is an ongoing journey. To begin to see and to turn our lives around is only the beginning…This road humbles us and gives us strength to repent, to ask forgiveness, to simplify and discard all that is not Life-giving, and to abandon ourselves into Love’s hands…I’ve learned to love and to trust the Mystery not needing to know the future. I no longer take Grace for granted—it is pure gift… My essential course of action is simply to be in the Eternal Now, ready to follow the small, still voice heard in the Silence.”
Learning to live in simplicity and to discard all that is not life giving is a huge start to grace. The first things we learn is that resisting repentance and forgiveness do not promote love and trust; they hinder it. It also shows us clearly what our concept is of the Father’s love and grace for us. A distorted view of the Father is the fastest way to have a distorted view of us.
Eternal life starts when we are born not after we die. We will live forever somewhere starting at our birth and as we live and die on earth we enter the eternal in another place. It is our choice where, but it is eternal now and eternal later.
“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” Jesus
