ENJOYING A FLOWER
Enjoying flowers is a most pleasant experience. If we see them from afar and see a whole field full of color it is breathtakingly beautiful. Even while driving fast and seeing them in the distance we are blessed.
Enjoying flowers up closer as we walk through our gardens, yards, parks and landscapes is satisfying as it feeds our Edenic nature. Especially if there are varieties of species, colors, smells and shapes.
But to really enjoy a flower is to stop and bend down low and carefully look and take in the flower by gently touching, seeing and feeling it. We have to slow down to a stop to enjoy a flower this way. We slow down and our souls feed on the slowness and the flowers.
I believe the process of distance, walking and bowing down to enjoy flowers is the same process needed to approach Jesus. We do so at a distance, by walking closely or by bowing down.
“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.” Jesus
