DON’T LET IT HAPPEN
Though not one of my favorite personalities, Jeff Bezos of Amazon is an amazing person. He recently stepped down as CEO of Amazon. His parting thoughts on (April 15, 2021):
“In his final letter before he steps down as CEO, Bezos noted $45 billion in revenue for Amazon Web Services alone, 200 million Amazon Prime members, and 1.3 million employees globally. Amazon is the second-largest private employer in the US behind Walmart. It hired 500,000 people just last year as the pandemic juiced demand for online shopping.
If there was one thing Bezos wanted to get across in this letter, it’s to embrace what makes you, you. He wrote,
“The world wants you to be typical–in a thousand ways, it pulls at you. Don’t let it happen.”
Paul, an apostle, said a similar thing:
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
Perhaps we should listen to smart people.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.” Jesus
