COMING TO JESUS #5
To other religions we must say: You are right to want to know God, you are right to adore Him, to love Him, to want to draw closer to Him. But you are much more right than you think, because God is much better than you think. He has taken all the steps to meet you that you imagine you are taking to meet Him. He is the One who has moved toward you and not you toward Him. He loves you even when you do not love Him. He calls you. He puts out his hand to draw you in. The hunger that you think you have for God is nothing in comparison with the hunger God has for you. Man can do without God, or attempt to do without God, but God cannot do without man, since He became man-God.
A son can deny his father, but a father cannot deny his son. “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will never forget you” (Isaiah 49:15).
The apostle Paul wrote in the Book of Hebrews, “For it was fitting that he, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the founder of their salvation perfect through suffering.”
We become sons of God by coming through The Son by the power of the Holy Spirit to the Father.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” Jesus
