CHOOSING A KING
If liberation means that God is within us, and the only ‘god’ that gets in the way of that kingship is the ‘god of self,’ then we come to the conclusion that the Kingdom, as presented through out the Bible, is a choosing of kings and loyalties. It means the ‘old man,’ with our inane desires for domination, of owning everything and of demanding all honor and all adoration for ourselves is turned completely in upon ourselves. When our interior is liberated from self interests, ownership and personal desires, God can become present in us without any trouble. Likewise, as long as our interior is occupied by selfishness, desires and egotism, then there is no place for God. We are occupied territory one-way or the other. Liberation is to be occupied by Jesus.
“You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” Jesus
