CAUSE OF FAILURES

Jesus said, “And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.” The ‘house’ is a metaphor for a person, a group of persons, a business, a church, a ministry, a city, a state or a nation or any other organization.

Our nation (USA) is an extremely divided country. This is cause for great concern because the words of Jesus will not only prove to be true but also the cause of failure.

Walt Whitman (1819-1892), American poet wrote,
“America, if eligible at all to downfall and ruin, is eligible within herself, not without… Always inform yourself; always do the best you can; always vote.”

The societies I have studied like the Babylonian, Persian, Sumerian, Roman, etc. are societies that failed from several causes (debauchery, greed, over taxation, large welfare state, excessive military, over extension of governmental ability, etc.) but the over-riding cause was failure from within, not from without. Failure came from a house divided.
