BUT FOR NOW

The river is not dry
Water still flows high
It’s not sweeping me by

If dams and lakes
Are what I make
It’s my mistake

Let the river go on by
I’ll tell you why
I am not ready to die

Any tears will not be fake
They may not form a lake
But some difference they’ll make

I will not be shy
I will not curse the sky
I won’t just sit and sigh

It is not just what water’s make
But for my Spirit’s sake
Both water and Spirit I take

But for now I plan to try
Tomorrow I’ll know why
But for now…the rivers not dry.
