BETWEEN TWO TREES
He hung between two trees,
Between two thieves,
Between two worlds,
Between two eternities,
Between two governments,
Between heaven and earth,
Between two gardens,
Between two covenants,
Between two wills,
Between two choices.
Father, why have you,
Forsaken this one?
This one, your chosen one,
Your only one?
He hung between two trees,
He hung for you and me,
So we wouldn’t,
Because we couldn’t.
