ATTENTION
Simone Weil (1909-1943) French Philosopher wrote, “Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.”
She also noted, “Attention, taken to its highest degree, is the same thing as prayer. It presupposes faith and love. Absolutely unmixed attention is prayer.
If we turn our mind toward the good, it is impossible that little by little the whole soul will not be attracted thereto in spite of itself.”
Attention is extremely rare in my view. Our distraction level is so complicated with data of every kind that attention is only tiny specks and starts of consideration and thought. Again, the cell phone has made attention almost impossible in our society.
“And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.” Jesus
