SPIRIT OF FREEDOM
Paul, an apostle, wrote, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
And now, like then, it just seems too easy, too free, too independent, too much liberty or too uncensored. We need to do something! That is exactly the point… there is nothing to be done or that could be done. It has all been done. It is a matter of receiving.
Our freedom is not in religion…but the Spirit.
Not in the church…but the Spirit.
Not in rules and regulations…but the Spirit.
Not in the Bible… but the Spirit.
Not in a denomination… but the Spirit.
Not in the pastor… but the Spirit.
Not in politics… but the Spirit.
It is freedom in the Spirit that gives us boundaries, stimulates our ambitions, sets us in order, brings peace and joy, and puts in us a desire for Kingdom living. “This all comes from the Lord” as Paul ends this thought, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We must conclude, “where the Spirit of the Lord isn’t… there is no freedom.”
“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” Jesus
