MENTAL TATTOOS
We are in a culture of tattoos. They are so popular that not having one is becoming as unusual as having one used to be. Of course the common tattoo is by definition “a part of the body with an indelible design by inserting pigment into punctures in the skin.” There seems to be little difference in the recipients… men, women, teens and children… they all have tats.
The correlation that I am wondering about is between the outward and obvious tattoo on the body and the inward and invisible tattoos on the mind and emotions. If in fact our mental tattoos “are indelible designs punctured in the pigment of the brain,” then they might be just as difficult to remove as an outward one.
Tattoos on the body fade, diminish and droop as the skin that wears them gets older and it would follow that our inward tattoos would do the same. Neither of them remain as attractive the longer we keep them, but mental tattoos (unless removed) seem to last as long as body tattoos. But that can be positive as well as negative and it is very important to get our brains tattooed by the very best Artist we can find as we would our body.
