TWO INTO ONE II
I’m still considering some thoughts from yesterday’s Journal entry on Two into One. A good portion of the Ephesian letter is to make multiple applications that all people (especially mentioned are Jews and Gentiles) are by faith in Christ ‘one body’ or ‘one people.’ There is no distinction, no chosen…no nothing, that someone is more than someone else in the body of Christ. We have all been bought and brought near to the Father by ‘the blood of Jesus.’ (Ephesians 2:13)
Paul, an apostle wrote: “But now in Christ Jesus, you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who made both groups one and tore down the dividing wall of hostility. In his flesh, he made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations, so that he might create in himself one new man from the two, resulting in peace. He did this so that he might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross by which he put the hostility to death. He came and proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father” (Ephesians 2:13-18).
Both groups are one (v.14
One new man from two (v.15)
Both to God in one body through the cross (v.16)
We both have access in one Spirit to the Father (v.18)
Two become one.
“But I have other sheep that are not from this sheep pen; I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.” Jesus
