CAREGIVERS
I recently read a statement by Rosalyn Carter (1927-2023) former first lady of the United States, as wife of President Jimmy Carter. She wrote:
“There are only four kinds of people in the world:
Those who have been caregivers,
Those who are currently caregivers,
Those who will be caregivers, and
Those who need caregivers.”
I thought about this and how easily one could shoot holes through her theory. I’m still shooting and missing…
Unless, someone just doesn’t care or give a rip about anything, one of these levels of the caregiver will still exist. We could be more than one of these at the same time.
I’m headed over to the other side of the Pond to have some Cuban Coffee and Tootsie Rolls and think how nicely this quote fits for eldering couples and the flock.
“And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?” Jesus
