DISINTEGRATION
Isaiah the prophet spoke long ago about the disintegration of nations based on corrupt and proud leaders who use deceitful language and laws to further their own desires but not those of God or the people. When this happened in Isaiah’s time, or in any time in history; there seems to be some distinguishing factors that go with the disintegration. Isaiah wrote, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who consider themselves wise
and judge themselves clever!” (Isaiah 5:20-21)
Beyond the full-blown deception of “calling good evil and evil good,” is the greater deception of being “wise in our own eyes and clever in our own sight.” This is when we assume, we have more insight, wisdom, experience and enlightenment than the wisdom, righteousness and justice of God. It is when decisions are made based more on the will of the people than on the will of God, more on what might be expedient than on what’s right, more on intentional blindness than on God’s light. We then soon see the little cracks and chips in a society, or in a person, turn into a crumble. We must pray fervently concerning all personal and social disintegration.
Disintegration often lies hidden in the cracks of a foundation and it soon leads to failure of the structure it is supposed to be holding solidly… whether person, place or thing.
