THE ROCK BAND
If we ever stop praising the Lord and announcing ‘blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord’ then we are told the Rock Band will show up. I don’t mean the rock bands of contemporary worship scene, or the Rock Bands of cultural history. I mean actual stones, rocks, just as Jesus said. The stones will cry out… the original Rock Band.
As Jesus entered Jerusalem in what is called the Triumphal Entry we read about the people following along and joyfully shouting:
“Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!” But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, “Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!” He replied, “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!” (Luke 19:37-40)
This song is on the Rock Band’s latest album:
‘You are the One and Only King’
They just keep singing it over and over…
Rock on, brothers and sisters. Rock on.
“For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.” Jesus
