GOD IS ALL IN ALL
Thomas Merton (1915-1968) Trappist monk and author wrote:
“Let me seek, then, the gift of silence,
and poverty, and solitude,
where everything I touch is turned into a prayer:
where the sky is my prayer,
the birds are my prayer,
the wind in the trees is my prayer,
for God is all in all.”
Merton wrote many transforming things in his many books. Much of what he wrote has always felt like a test to me. Or, now what do I do? Time’s up, pencils down.
‘God is all in all…’ is a truth I believe. The gift of silence is the way. Solitude is the place. And, humility of self to experience the Father in all things.
“If you love me, obey me; and I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, the Spirit who leads into all truth.” Jesus
