STILL LEARNING
One great joy and expectation is that we are Still Learning. There is always the excitement of seeing, hearing or understanding something new. There is more to know. As we go along… our most honest appraisal of ourselves is understanding how little we know and then exploring new things.
Brain Rot comes when we assume that we know it all and we stop learning, listening and looking… or even slow down to just scrolling, drooling and being screen monkeys.
I’m always reminded of this remark from friend Cliff Taylor (1929-2016), “When you think you know it all… you are about as smart as you’re ever going to get.”
Like I read somewhere: “Unless your name is Google stop acting like you know everything.”
I’m headed over to the other side of the Pond to have some Cuban Coffee and a Maple Bar. I heard that Maple Bars are excellent for helping with memory and focus. I think they recommended about three a day for maximum benefit.
“For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done for you. Truly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his master, and a messenger is not greater than the one who sent him. If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.” Jesus
