I SHALL NOT BE MOVED
“I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
My heart (mind) also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the Lord always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh (body) also will rest in hope.
For you will not leave my soul (soul life) in Sheol,
Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.
You will show me the path of life;
In your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
(Psalm 16:7-11 NKJV)
David mentions the mind, body and soul in this Psalm.
Though we may be moved in one of these areas of our person; David is declaring that he ‘will not be moved.’ It is because the Lord gives him ‘counsel’ and ‘instructions’ (v. 7) because he has ‘set the Lord before him’… the Lord is always on his mind, on his soul and on his body. This makes him happy and rejoicing. He proclaims overcoming death (v.10) and he ends with ‘in your presence is fullness of joy.” (v.11)
It is all of our person for all of God’s presence.
“You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” Jesus
