ASSEMBLING OURSELVES TOGETHER
I recently heard this in meditation: ‘You should try to assemble yourself together before you assemble yourself together with others.’
Meditation is certainly a way that I daily choose to try and ‘assemble’ myself in front of the Lord. Some days it is simple and done quickly and some days it is difficult and I remain somewhat disassembled. But whether one is assembled, reassembled, disassembled or unassembled, it might be a good idea to find a community that could help assemble us as we assemble with them. Two or three, or a dozen, or two or three dozen. Or, with Roz.
That to me could be a clearer meaning of Hebrews 10:23-25: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together…”
That seems like something that should not be forsaken.
“For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” Jesus
