HORSE BABIES
The other day I was driving back home out through the country farmlands and ranches. I noticed on a little horse ranch a couple of new horse babies. There were two foals hanging close with their mothers. What a joy to see every time I see it.
A mare is pregnant 10-12 months or from 325 to 355 days. They usually carry one foal per pregnancy. The average weight of a mare is about 950-1200 pounds. The foal is about 10% of the mare’s weight averaging about 100 pounds.
What brought my attention to the horse babies was that one of them was pure white. When I see a white horse I am reminded of this scene:
“Then I saw heaven opened, and there before me was a white horse. The rider on the horse is called Faithful and True, and he is right when he judges and makes war. His eyes are like burning fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him, which no one but himself knows. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and clean, were following him on white horses. Out of the rider’s mouth comes a sharp sword that he will use to defeat the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will crush out the wine in the winepress of the terrible anger of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his upper leg was written this name: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation 19:11-16)
Ride on, King Jesus on your white horse.
“So change your hearts and lives. If you do not, I will come to you quickly and fight against them with the sword that comes out of my mouth.” Jesus
