HOW WE LOOK AT IT
Continuing somewhat from yesterday’s Journal entry…
Living in the negative brings a dark cloud that may form into a storm of doubt and unbelief. Many live under this dark, suspicious, critical mindset while speaking of faith. Something doesn’t match.
Depending on which news channels and media we are being formed by, we might… we could be saying, ‘It looks like everything is going to hell in a hand basket’ (maybe without knowing about hell or hand baskets) or moving from ‘what’s the worst that could happen?’ to ‘how great could things be?” For some folks the dark cloud is comfortable because of their outlook on life. For others the sky is clearer.
This is helpful advice from poet Naomi Shihab Nye for removing ourselves from controlling tendencies and the opinion of others: ‘Let them think what they want!
It’s late but everything comes next.’
Christopher Moltisanti: “Other people’s definitions of you, sometimes they’re more about making themselves feel better. You gotta define yourself.”
(I read this quote from ‘The Sopranos’ TV show)
“Those who have a strong sense of love and belonging have the courage to be imperfect.” Brené Brown, a favorite professor and author.
Until the Father defines us we will see others and ourselves in the Light or under a dark cloud. Our job is Good News…not Dark News. The Father is Light.
“I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns too, for that is what I was sent to do.” Jesus
