FISHING BOBBER THEOLOGY
Back in November of last year I had a dream and in the dream I saw this dude out in a nice Bass Boat and looking over the Lake for the best spot to fish. When a spot was chosen I saw him go into his Tackle Box and look for just the right lures, line and weights. When I saw inside the Tackle Box it was full of little plastic dividers that had various kinds of fishing equipment compartmented. I was surprised at the number of fishing specialties in the box.
When I saw the next scene the fisherman was relaxed in the boat enjoying a Baloney Sandwich and a Cold Beer and had a bobber on his line floating along the water. Another angler floated by and asked him what bait he was using. He answered: ‘A Stick bait lure.’ The other angler then asked, “Why he had a bobber on with a Stick bait lure.” The man in the Bass Boat said, “Oh, I have a Plastic Worm on a short line down from the Bobber… just in case the lure doesn’t work.”
Finally, in the dream, the fisherman went home without any fish, mumbling… “The fish just aren’t biting.”
Then I heard… People aren’t biting either. Christians and non-Christians aren’t taking the bait from all the plastic gimmicks, flashy lures and fake bait. Fishing Bobber Theology isn’t working anymore. They want live bait, the real deal, real people and real life together in the power of the Holy Spirit.
“Come, follow me, and I will make you a different kind of fishermen. You will bring in people, not fish.” Jesus
