BIBLICAL DELUSION
To only study the scriptures can make us only theoretical disciples. We can answer every question, quote chapter and verse, attend meetings and learn more and more, and attend classes and learn more, go to Bible studies and learn more, read books and magazines and learn more, we can order and listen to recorded material and learn more, get on the computer and learn more, attend conferences, seminars, retreats and schools and learn more, and yet without application all the smugness and safety of scripture knowledge is void and leaves us empty and trying “to find our way in this old worldly wilderness.” That is a scripture wilderness.
James, an apostle, still smacks us on the nose with, “Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. Faith without works is useless. You see that a man is justified by works, and not by faith alone.”
“Have faith in God.” Jesus
