CREATE SOMETHING

Maxine Hong Kingston, American novelist and professor wrote:

“In a time of destruction, create something. A poem. A parade. A community. A school. A vow, A moral principle. One peaceful moment.”

I think this is sound instruction. Because:
When things get tipped over, someone needs to tip them back right side up.
When things get crooked, someone’s strong hand and word is needed to straighten them back out.
When things get full of lies and liars, someone needs to bring and tell the truth.
When things get hazy and unclear, someone needs to present clarity and make things understandable.

When things get destructive, someone needs to create something.

We are the ‘someone’ on either side of these comparisons. Someone needs to receive or create “one peaceful moment,” or both.
