GOSSIP AND SLANDER III

Gossip and Slander are forms of an evil report. Evil reports influence us to form bad opinions of each other.

Definitions of this issue:

Slanderer- Uses facts or distorted facts to destroy another’s credibility and reputation.

“Hiding hatred makes you a liar; slandering others makes you a fool.” Proverbs 10:18)

“Wrongdoers eagerly listen to gossip; liars pay close attention to slander.” (Proverbs 17:4)

“Never slander a worker to the employer, or the person will curse you, and you will pay for it.” (Proverbs 30:10)

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.” (Ephesians 4:31)

“But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.” (Matthew 15:18-19)

Slander comes from the disintegration of virtue and with this comes the disintegration of society.

“But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person. For out of the heart come evil ideas, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.” Jesus
