MARRIAGE COUNSELING
Paul, an apostle, wrote: “For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault.” (Ephesians 5:26-27)
‘Those who dishonor the bride dishonor the Groom.’
That does not mean to me that the bride is yet a glorious one without flaws. But it rather makes the Bride of Christ like all other married people… needing some work. We are being made ‘holy and clean’ and ‘washed in the Word.’ That takes some doing and desire to even want to be that way. It also means the bride may need some Marriage Counseling.
I think our Marriage Counseling consists of Word Washing, prayer, fasting, giving, silence, solitude, worship, journaling, serving, healing, helping, renewing our minds, loving, exercising faith, looking at trees and water and rocks, prophesying, sacrifice, eating carnitas tacos, study, cconfession and celebration, to enjoy ourselves, to eat and drink, sing and dance and tell of Father’s goodness.
The Groom is the Son of Man/Son of God and needs no couseling. But it must thrill the Groom to see the Bride wanting to be ‘without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish.’ That takes Marriage Counseling and the Spiritual Cosmetic… which is faith for beauty.
“Marriage is for people here on earth. But in the age to come, those worthy of being raised from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage. And they will never die again. In this respect they will be like angels. They are children of God and children of the resurrection.” Jesus
