PLACE SETTING

I learned something the other night after setting a sandwich plate down on the table for dinner. The sandwich is supposed to be cut diagonally and then the tips of the diagonal are to be pointed directly toward the person who will be eating the sandwich. Chips and such are placed on the plate between the sandwich halves. I did not know that. At least that’s the way Roz does it. Roz has taught me many things.

I was raised in a household of four sons with my mom and dad. When food was served you kept a fork clinched tightly in your fist to stab your brother’s hand if he tried to steal stuff off of your plate. During the time of giving thanks… you learned to pray with one eye open. My dad kept strict order at the table but it was not a formal setting. He seemed to think the fork idea was OK. I am still learning about keeping my hands and arms off the table and keeping my sandwiches pointed in the right direction and not to stab other people while eating. It is good to learn these things. But why?… I am not sure.

But you are those who have continued with me in my trials. And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as my Father bestowed one upon me, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom. Jesus
