THE POWER OF LOVE
Fyodor Dostoevsky (1821-1881) wrote, “Go, and fear not. Be not bitter against men. Be not angry if you are wronged. Forgive. Be reconciled with everyone you know. If you are penitent, you love. And if you love, you are of God. All things are atoned for; all things are saved by love. Love is such a priceless treasure that you can redeem the whole world by it, and expiate not only your own sins but also the sins of others.”
Paul, an apostle wrote, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.”
There are many powers we may have in body, mind, emotions and will, but nothing compares to the power of love. It is the force that is greater than all others…. the power of love.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. Jesus
