CHURCHANITY AND CHRISTIANITY

Churchianity: Any practices of religion that place a larger emphasis on the habits of church life or the institutional traditions of the church than on theology and the spiritual teachings of Jesus; the quality of being too church-focused.

Christianity: is following the teachings and examples of Jesus that are found in scripture, especially in the four gospels.

Most of the letters in the New Testament were written by apostles to deal with the goofy, sinful, divisive, prideful and destructive issues of a religious spirit. (i.e., Gnosticism, religious rituals, Law, freedom and slavery, etc.). They were dealing with Churchanity. As Paul, an apostle, wrote to Timothy: “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.” (2 Timothy 4:3)

There is little fight or division on any emphasis of Jesus’ teachings in the gospels. They are what they are and those who follow them are what are called Christians.
