TOUCHING THE GARMENT
Many of us are like the woman in Mark’s gospel who had been dealing with a hemorrhage for twelve years. There comes a time to be as bold as this woman. I think it is time to push through the crowd of religious fatalism and feudalism and come up even behind what is going on in the main stream of Christianity. We need to boldly grab the garment of the Lord and hang on until He notices us. Don’t give up! Fight your way into the middle of the mob. Do whatever is necessary to get into a position where power can be manifested in our direction. Don’t take, “No,” for an answer, don’t take “maybe later,” or some sentimental remark about, “in God’s good time.” “Be patient.” Look where the garment is passing by and make a beeline for it. If we dive and miss, we get up and try again, even if we only get the fringe, the fringe is enough. This woman was in “fear and trembling” thinking that she had been a little too aggressive, a little too forward; she fell down before Jesus and told Him exactly the truth of her garment grabbing plan. Jesus was not offended, but was fully moved to grant her “to go in peace” and “be healed.” Faith extended has touched the hand that was full of the fringe. The hemorrhage stopped. All hemorrhages stopped. “If I just touch His garment I will get well.”
Lord Jesus, if you feel a tug at your garment, it is I. I ask you to send me in peace and healed of every hemorrhage in my life.
Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction. Jesus
