THE BEAUTIFUL OCEANS
In Genesis 1:6-10 we read: God said, “I command a dome to separate the water above it from the water below it.” And that’s what happened. God made the dome and named it “Sky.” Evening came, then morning—that was the second day. God said, “I command the water under the sky to come together in one place, so there will be dry ground.” And that’s what happened. God named the dry ground “Land,” and he named the water “Ocean.” God looked at what he had done and saw that it was good.” (Contemporary English Version)
The beautiful oceans have been from the beginning as far as we know. Who knows about the future?
“By 2050, plastic will probably outweigh all the fish in the sea, according to the United Nations Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. Between 8.8 and 11 million tons of plastic make it to the ocean every year. Plastic doesn’t decompose as other materials might. Water and wind cause plastic to disintegrate into much smaller pieces, known as micro plastics. Micro plastics are harder to clean up and easier for ocean species to ingest.” (The Washington Post)
Surely some of our brilliant scientists can develop a disposable replacement for plastic. Let it be, let it be, before it’s too late for our Beautiful Oceans.
“The kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind.” Jesus
