ENJOYING TREE AND FRUIT
It is much easier to enjoy the fruit than the tree many times. But as is obvious… how can we have fruit to enjoy without a tree that produced it? I think this is why Jesus emphasized the Good Tree so strongly if we expect to get Good Fruit. It has taken me a lifetime to learn to enjoy the Fruit the same way I have enjoyed the Tree. It is hard work for me. It is more than a Spirit of Poverty… it is philosophical challenges because I have been a Tree Person for most of my life. I have grown things so others can have Fruit. I am a Tree Dude not the Fruit Dude. I’m learning to be both.
Paul, an apostle, wrote: “Who plants a vineyard and does not eat the fruit of it? Or who tends a flock and does not use the milk of the flock?” (1Corinthinas 9:7)
It is not one or the other: Tree or Fruit, it’s both.
“When eating fruit, remember the one who planted the tree.” (Vietnamese proverb)
Warren Buffett once wrote, “Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”
“A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit.” Jesus
