TELLING AND KNOWING

There are basically two ways we communicate: Telling what we know and telling what someone else told us. One is by experience and the other is by assumption or supposition. The first is more factual and forceful as a position and the other is a strong ‘I think so’ position.

There is a quote: “you can’t give what you ain’t got and you can’t come back from where you ain’t been…” (Unknown) I think this is accurate and might be good policy for presenting both philosophy and theology. Our message is much more believable if we give what we’ve got and can tell where we have been.

Everything else remains in the “I think so…” or “I hope so…” instead of the faith realm.
