WATER TO WINE

The first miracle that Jesus performed in his earthly ministry was at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. In the Gospel of John 2:

“The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the celebration. The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” (NLT) Jesus turned six large jars of water into wine for the wedding guests. The jars held twenty to thirty gallons each. So, six times thirty… hang on I’m getting it… 180 gallons of wine. If the jars only held twenty gallons… hang on one more minute or two… got it… 120 gallons of wine. That’s a lot of wine for the wedding party.

Our responsibility is to turn every situation we can… marriage, job, business, parenting, money issues, conflicts and confrontations, divorce, our conversion, addictions, pain and misery…from water into wine… from the ordinary to the miracle…as best we have faith to do. Not just a little change and re-do but a Water to Wine miracle like Jesus did at Cana. We often need to make 180-degree changes while we make 180-gallon changes.

Christ’s whole work turns the water of earth into the wine of the Kingdom.
