GOD’S CHILDREN

The Gospel of John 1:12 has this great promise: “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” In chapter three we read: “No one can enter God’s kingdom unless they are born with water and the Holy Spirit. People give birth to people. But the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised when I say, ‘You must all be born again.’” (John 3:5-7) To become one of God’s children and part of his Kingdom we must be born again ‘from above.’ “The Spirit himself joins with our spirits. Together they tell us that we are God’s children.” (Romans 8:16)

Paul, an apostle, reminds us: “I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Corinthians 6:18) We become ‘sons and daughters’ to the Father… we are God’s children. Therefore when we are baptized with the Holy Spirit and become children of God there is never a distinction made as the Holy Spirit gives gifts for functioning as Kingdom children as concerns gender. There are no male and female gifts given, but they are gifts for God’s children. It is man that has come up with rules and regulations for male and female gifts. Males can do this but females can’t and so forth. In my opinion it is nonsense to think in gender or transgender about Holy Spirit gifts. I have long believed that if we truly belong to the Lord, male or female, the Spirit may equip us for any gift at any time that pleases the Trinity and for the sake of the Kingdom. “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1John 3:1) If we are his…he will use us as it pleases him.
