DRUMMERS AND FLAGS

We march to various drummers and we carry various flags. They may be exterior in importance to us as we try to make statements or promote ideas. It is very much like a parade. A parade is a group of people marching in ceremony, celebration, or protest. The term ‘marching to a different drummer’ can often mean that one is not part of the established order, whatever it might be. To wave your own flag is a very similar idea of showing personal preference. For example: I passed by a local church recently that had two flag poles out front flying four flags: The American Flag, The California State Flag, The Homosexual Flag and the Christian Flag. These are exterior statements of importance to this particular group.

Knowing where to Plant our Flag and Beat our Drum are very important discoveries, decisions and distinctions. Though most flags fly inwardly and most drums beat inwardly they are still true indicators of what we believe is important. Drums and Flags turn into communication that is verbal as well as a parade.
Just a short conversation can reveal what football team, news channel, politic, favorite TV show, movie star, golf pro, scholar, preacher, dog, cat, horse, or anything else that is in our Drum and Flag range. To dismiss any of this as unimportant is to see someone get real snarky real fast.

I am going over to the other side of the pond to plant my flag under a Pine Tree and have Cuban Coffee and Raspberry Croissants and beat my own drum, which is my favorite drum.
