THE MIDDLE
Some 700 plus years before Jesus, Amos, a prophet, told us, “On that day, says the Lord God, I will make the sun go down at noon, and darken the earth in broad daylight.” (Amos 8:9) We know from the Gospels that when Jesus went to the cross it was in the middle of the day. As the Gospel of Mark 15:33 records, “When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.” Amos had seen the cross in the middle of the day.
The very exact middle verse of the Bible is Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray
we have all turned to our own way
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.”
The Middle of all things is the Cross of Jesus Christ.
“At three o’clock Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Jesus
