SLOW FOOD
Slow Food is of course in contrast to Fast Food. Slow Food is the simple act of slowing down to consume our ‘daily bread.’ It might look something like this:
Allow time to think and process what our body needs concerning food and nourishment.
Learn the beauty of food. Where it comes from. How to grow it. Where to buy it. Learn basic healthy foods and eating habits. Eat food that is as natural and unprocessed as possible.
Learn to prepare our own meals. Know the food groups. Eat at table instead of sofa. Chew slowly. Light a candle. Turn on music instead of TV.
Lastly, try to find someone to help you clean up the mess.
This may seem a little too parental but it also seems to be a good slow idea to me. It is a better idea than Fast Food.
“Of all ridiculous things the most ridiculous seems to me, to be busy — to be a man who is brisk about his food and his work,” Søren Kierkegaard (1813-1855) said in 1843 as he contemplated our greatest source of unhappiness.
“Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?” Jesus
