THE EXTENDED SALE

I recently read in a newspaper: ‘we have extended our 4th of July Sale until Thanksgiving’ or something like that. And then I read: ‘we have extended our Thanksgiving Sale until Christmas…. or was that Easter? Maybe it was until Valentine’s Day, Canada Day, or Groundhog Day… Sale. If we believe this sort of thing we deserve this sort of thing.

The only thing with this much grace and extension of benefit is the long-suffering and patient Father waiting for us to come home to him. The scripture says
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
(2 Peter 3:9)

He has extended his grace from 4th of July to Thanksgiving and beyond… but there will be a cut-off date: death. It is belter to take advantage of the situation while we are still up staggering around looking for life and meaning and a good deal on something that is On Sale. Have mercy, Oh, Lord.
