SAY IT!
Not long ago we moved some potted plants from one location across town to another. Most plants, like most people, don’t like change and new environments. These plants are plants of habit just like most creatures of habit. One plant after the move had an especially difficult time adjusting to the new place, not unlike moving children from one school to another. This plant, though watered and cared for properly, began to turn yellow and look droopy. Extra care was given, more light and fertilizer—there was still no change.
One morning after looking this poor plant over and picking off some yellowed leaves, Roz spoke to this plant in a firm and authoritative way and told it to stop being sickly, to become healthy and get rid of that yellow look. She said, “You be happy, turn green and live strong.” That plant has been doing well ever since.
She has spoken to our plants for a long time. They know her voice, touch and care. They also know when to straighten up and grow right (more than plants know this voice). Sometimes we just have to Say It! Say it to circumstances, our kids, dogs, the weather, evil spirits, finances, moods, plagues or plants. We speak to things that aren’t as though they were. I suppose that is faith but it is also rising up in authority to stop what is not right and to start what is right. Grow, little plant, grow!
“If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, “Be uprooted and planted in the sea, and it would obey you”. Jesus
