SMART PEOPLE

There have always been some really smart people like Marie Curie, Aristotle, Galileo Galilei, Hildegard of Bingen, Nicola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Leonardo de Vinci, King Solomon and so many more.
To this list of Smart People I would add my friend John who invented electricity. Then there is EO who is simply a wise man…both smart and wise. Then there is Jim and Arlin who just seem to know everything about everything (Arlin’s dead…so that leaves Jim). Honorable mention would be Clarence the Eggman who just seemed to know more about most things than most other people. Then maybe I should bring up Yancey … probably not… no one would believe how smart he is.

But my final vote goes to George Crum, who in 1853 in Saratoga Springs, New York is the person who invented Potato Chips… who took one potato and slicing it into paper-thin slices and frying it crisp started a revolution in food. Now a bag of these little wonders made from a couple of potatoes is selling for $3.99 a bag…. now that’s smart (The Family Size cost a little more).

Now being around smart people can bother a person or not bother a person… It bothers me because I don’t know how people get so smart…I just know they do. It is really kind of discouraging for some of us. It’s off to the other side of the pond where I can read about smart people and not be around them while sipping Cuban Coffee and having some Potato Chips and homemade Biscotti.
