KNOWING RIGHT THINGS
Recently we were having Vegetable Soup and Roz said, “Vegetable Soup is just Wet Salad.” This is just one example of knowing right things. It could be Liquid Salad or Cooked Salad…but it really is Wet Salad.
It was like another time when I went to the Grocery Store and asked a clerk if they had any of the Little Roasted Chicken Carcasses. She said, “Do you mean Rotisserie Chickens?” “I guess so, The Little Roasted Rotisserie Chicken Carcasses,” I replied. She told me they were just simply called Rotisserie Chickens.
After I got home I started looking into this Rotisserie Chicken business. This is what I learned: “Rotisserie, also known as spit-roasting, is a style of roasting where meat is skewered on a spit – a long solid rod used to hold food while it is being cooked over a fire in a fireplace or over a campfire, or roasted in an oven.”
As a little kid I started doing this Rotisserie thing roasting Robins and Trout and Frogs over a campfire out south of my hometown town on Worth Road many years ago. Well, this was really and truly a Paleo Diet… cooking food just like the Cavemen and Cavewomen did! For a mean little kid, It was like having a Pelagormis Sanders (the largest flying bird known to have lived on earth) and cooking it in parts on a Cave-Spit Rotisserie back in minus 39,000,000 years ago. And from this we get the poor Little Roasted Chicken Carcass at the Supermarket.
It’s good to know the right things. No, really, that’s what happened. I sure hope the sky doesn’t fall or that my skin won’t fall off for giving this useful information.
